"Transformation in der Stadt: Timisoara erforschen."  Dies war das Thema der 6. Ausgabe der Sommerschule von der Einheit für Sozialanthropologie, die der Stadtanthropologie gewidmet wurde. Neun Studierende, begleitet von Andrea Boscoboinik und Sylvain Besençon, wurden von Professorin Melinda Dinca und ihrem Team vom 16. bis 20. Juli 2018 in Timisoara (Rumänien) empfangen/aufgenommen. Das Programm dieser Sommerschule war umfangsreich: Besuche wichtiger Orte in der Stadt sowie eines Vorortes, Treffen mit Beamten verschiedener Projekte und Beobachtungsübungen in verschiedenen Stadtvierteln.
Die Stadt bot ein perfektes Forschungsfeld für die städtische Anthropologie. Die Studierende konnten Themen wie Multikulturalismus, Probleme, die sich aus der Schrumpfung der Stadt seit dem Fall des Kommunismus im Jahr 1989, und die Transformationen im  Hinblick auf 2021, Jahr, in dem die Stadt europäische Kulturhauptstadt sein wird, vertiefen.

Transformation in the City: Exploring Timisoara” was the topic of this 6th edition dedicated to urban anthropology. 9 students, accompanied by Andrea Boscoboinik and Sylvain Besençon, were welcomed by Professor Melinda Dinca and her team between 16th to 20th July in Timisoara, Romania. The program was intensive, with visits of the main places of the City and of a suburb, meeting with different experts and leaders of local projects, as well as observation exercises in different neighbourhoods.
The city offered a perfect field to carry out observation in urban anthropology, and the students could examine some specific topics such as the multiculturalism, issues related to the urban shrinkage of the city, and its transformation for being ready when the city will become European Capital of Culture in 2021.
