Transformation dans la ville : Explorer Timisoara. Tel était le thème de cette 6e édition dédiée à l’anthropologie urbaine. Neuf étudiant.e.s, accompagné.e.s par Andrea Boscoboinik and Sylvain Besençon, ont été accueilli.e.s par la Professeure Melinda Dinca et son équipe du 16 au 20 juillet à Timisoara, en Roumanie. Le programme de cette école d’été a été chargé : visites des lieux importants de la ville ainsi que d’une banlieue, rencontres avec des responsables de divers projets et exercices d’observation dans différents quartiers.
La ville offrait un parfait terrain d’observation pour l’anthropologie urbaine et les étudiant.e.s ont pu largement approfondir des sujets liés au multiculturalisme, aux problèmes qui découlent de son rétrécissement depuis la chute du régime communiste en 1989, et aux transformations qui s’opèrent en vue de 2021, année durant laquelle la ville sera capitale européenne de la culture.

Transformation in the City: Exploring Timisoara” was the topic of this 6th edition dedicated to urban anthropology. 9 students, accompanied by Andrea Boscoboinik and Sylvain Besençon, were welcomed by Professor Melinda Dinca and her team between 16th to 20th July in Timisoara, Romania. The program was intensive, with visits of the main places of the City and of a suburb, meeting with different experts and leaders of local projects, as well as observation exercises in different neighbourhoods.
The city offered a perfect field to carry out observation in urban anthropology, and the students could examine some specific topics such as the multiculturalism, issues related to the urban shrinkage of the city, and its transformation for being ready when the city will become European Capital of Culture in 2021.
