Economics

IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca invites expressions of interest for an Associate or Full Professor in Economics, preferably in the fields of macroeconomics, international economics, applied econometrics, innovation, development and growth. The position offers excellent opportunities for research in an interdisciplinary research environment and it carries a moderate post-doctoral teaching load. IMT is host to an internationally recognized research center in economics, which has consistently ranked at the top of the National Evaluation of the Quality of Research (VQR) in Economics and related fields.

Activities at the School include: research, tutorship and mentoring of PhD students, graduate teaching and participation in research projects. The successful candidate will collaborate in the shaping of the future research agenda and the PhD Program.

Applicants should have an outstanding research potential as evidenced by publications in top economics journals and a very promising research agenda, an excellent track record in teaching (at the undergraduate and, especially, at the graduate level) and a highly cooperative attitude towards furthering the operations of the School. Complex Systems

The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca invites expressions of interest for an Associate Professor position in the area of complex systems and their analytical description by means of network theory. Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications with a distinctive multidisciplinary interest and a strong technical knowledge of statistical physics. Candidates must be active in the area of financial and economic networks. Interest and activities focused on neurosciences will be considered a plus.

Activities at the School include: research, tutorship and mentoring of PhD students, graduate teaching and grant applications. The successful candidate will be part of the Networks Research Unit and will collaborate in the shaping of the PhD program.

 

Relationships and exchanges between the Western and the Eastern worlds

IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca invites expressions of interest for a Full Professor position to carry out research and teaching on the relationships and exchanges between the Western and the Eastern worlds, particularly between European and the Islamic cultures and traditions, and with specific regard to the fields of  history of ideas and philosophy from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era. An excellent track record of teaching and research experience is expected in the area of cultural exchanges between the Islamic and the so called Western cultures.  Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications and a significant experience, preferably international, of research and Ph.D. students' supervision and advisorship. Activities include: teaching, research, tutorship and mentoring of Ph.D. students, seminar organizations, team work organization related to cultural heritage. The successful candidate will be part of the research unit LYNX at IMT Lucca.
