Two postdoctoral positions in the statistical physics of multiplex networks

Two postdoctoral researchers are expected to open to start on September 1st, 2015 as part of the FP7 project MULTIPLEX. The postdoctoral researchers will work at the Interdisciplinary Group of Complex Systems and Random Networks in the Department of Physics of University of Aveiro.

Job description: Two postdoctoral positions are opened in the Group of Complex Systems and Random Networks at the Physics Department of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. Research interests are in the field of the statistical physics of complex networks and its applications on multiplex networks.

Requirements:

(1) A candidate may be a theoretical physicist with a good record in the field of statistical physics or condensed matter theory, and/or
(2) A candidate may be a specialist in numerical calculations and simulations, and/or
(3) A candidate may be a person with experience of work with cellular network databases and in bioinformatics.
The candidates should have a good command of English.

The applicants should have a recent  Ph.D. degree.

Appointment:

The initial appointment is for one year. Conditional on a positive evaluation and available funding, this can be followed by an appointment for up to two additional years. The salary will be €1495,00 per month (no taxes). The intended start date is 1 September 2015.
