Schweizer Bischofskonferenz
The St. Nicholas Centre is a contact for the Swiss Bishops' Conference on ecumenical issues, especially in the area of the Eastern Churches. Together with the SBK, the first meeting between the Catholic bishops and the Orthodox bishops' assembly for Switzerland was prepared (2012), as was the first anniversary of the meeting between Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill in Havana, Cuba (2017). On behalf of the "Church in Need" Foundation, the SBK administers scholarships for Eastern European students; as a rule, the St. Nicholas Centre has the right to nominate four of these scholarships and in this way can support Orthodox theologians who, after their studies, become ambassadors of understanding in their home churches.
