    Ein hoher Anteil der Migrationsbevölkerung in der Schweiz und Europa ist betroffen von psychischen Erkrankungen. Diagnostische Kriterien, wie sie in den Diagnosemanualen ICD-11 und DSM-5 aufgeführt werden, sind kulturelle Konstrukte, d.h. sie wurden in einem bestimmten kulturellen Kontext definiert und sind nicht unmittelbar auf andere kulturelle Gruppen übertragbar. Kulturelle Faktoren beeinflussen, wie psychische Symptome wahrgenommen und bewertet werden, und wie betroffene Personen und ihre Angehörigen darauf reagieren. Auch gibt es kulturelle Differenzen bezüglich der Annahmen, wie Körper und Geist funktionieren. Des Weiteren sind strukturelle (z.B. sozioökonomische Faktoren, Erfahrungen von Diskriminierung) zu berücksichtigen. In diesem Seminar wird thematisiert, wie psychologische Interventionen an die Bedürfnisse kulturell diverser Gruppen angepasst werden können.
