Teaching

The facility contributes to teaching microscopy and image processing. It also organizes workshops and courses on selected topics to ensure a sound knowledge of one of the key-measuring technologies in natural science.

We intend to do teaching for both, students and staff. The courses are part of the of the course offerings of the campus. To see the complete catalog of courses on the campus here in Fribourg please visit studies.unifr.ch.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us to inform us to make suggestions concerning yourself or an interest-group. Of course we also will do our best to meet your individual needs around the topics microscopy, image- and data-analysis.

List of internal seminars and workshops:

Imaris Workshop 11. September 2018 (Tuesday, August 28, 2018) - At the University of Fribourg we use Imaris to process and analyse multidimensional image data-sets issue from epi-fluorescene microscopy.  In particular we use it’s advanced functionality for 3 dimensional (optically sectioned) image data and perform volumetric analysis. We organise a worksop with representatives of Bitplane for you, to discover the possibilities of the software and [...]
Huygens Workshop 15. September 2017 (Monday, August 14, 2017) - You would like to get the best out of your image data, try to push the resolution? If this is the case you should sign up for the upcoming Huygens  workshop. During this one-day-workshop you can learn about image restoration and how you can apply it to your own image data here at the University [...]
Huygens Workshop (Monday, July 10, 2017) - This autumn the makers of the Huygens Software will give a workshop about image deconvolution at the University of Fribourg. There is no perfect instrument, every device comes with a certain number of imperfections, that impact our measurements. This is also true for light microscopy, where we encounter spherical aberrations, chromatic aberrations, bleaching, stage drift, [...]
Imaris Workshop (Friday, June 9, 2017) - At the University of Fribourg we use Imaris to process and analyse multidimensional image data-sets issue from epi-fluorescene microscopy.  In particular we use it’s advanced functionality for 3 dimensional (optically sectioned) image data and perform volumetric analysis. We organise a worksop with representatives of Bitplane for you, to discover the possibilities of the software and [...]
New IT Infrastructure Launch (Thursday, March 26, 2015) - We would like to invite you to the launch presentation for the platform’s new IT infrastructure next Wednesday April 1st at 12:15. No joke. The presentation will take place in the large Auditorium 0.110 Auditorium in Plant Biology. We will talk about some new acquisitions the Bioimage Light Microscopy Facility has made recently that should [...]
