Pre-Semester Intensive French course

We offer:

 

  • quality teaching, taught by experienced teachers, to improve your language skills (vocabulary and grammar, oral and written comprehension and expression)

  • participation in a varied programme of cultural and sports activities that will allow you to take advantage of your new language skills while getting to know the city of Fribourg, its university and the region

  • the opportunity to establish strong and intercultural contacts with mobility and local students

Target Group

  • mobility students from a partner university
  • students who are starting their studies at the University of Fribourg
  • Students and employees of the University of Fribourg who are already members of UniFribourg

The courses are primarily intended for Mobility students and regular students who are starting their studies at the University of Fribourg. All other students and employees of the University of Fribourg are also welcome.
The aim for the course participants is to make fast progress and quickly improve their language skills in a professional environment, to meet new people and to get to know the university and its surroundings.

Classes are established according to the number of students and their respective levels, ranging from beginner level (A1) to advanced level (C1).

 Registration deadlines

  • 15 July 2020 for courses in the autumn semester (August 2020)
  • 15 December 2020 for courses in the spring semester (February 2021)

Cost

  • for students coming as part of a partnership agreement with a foreign university
    Course fees are between 300 and 400 CHF depending on the chosen course.
    The course before the spring semester lasts two weeks whereas the one preceding the autumn semester lasts three weeks.
  • for other students, for scholarship holders, etc.
    Course fees are between 500 and 600 CHF depending on the chosen course.
    The course before the spring semester lasts two weeks whereas the one preceding the autumn semester lasts three weeks.

Validation of the Course

The course before the autumn semester (duration 3 weeks) is worth 6 ECTS credits while that before the spring semester (duration 2 weeks) offers 4 ECTS credits

Obtaining a certificate requires regular attendance and active participation in the various class activities and tasks.
