Self-directed learning

With autonomous learning, you decide by yourself what, how, when, where, and with what material you want to learn and whether you want to learn by yourself or with others. Most of us are used to our experience in school, where the teacher assumed the greatest part of the responsibility for learning and we learners simply followed their instructions. If you guide your own learning you assume full responsibility for the process. In return, you take back the freedom to choose how to learn and may pursue your learning objectives in a way that suits you best.
