Alexandra Feddersen Newly Appointed Assistant Professor in Communication Studies

Starting on October 1st, 2019, Alexandra Feddersen joins the team of the Department of Communication and Media Research (DCM) at the University of Fribourg.

Alexandra Feddersen obtained her PhD in political science from the University of Geneva, where she taught during six years. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Swiss Forum for migration and population studies at the University of Neuchâtel.

In her research, Alexandra Feddersen focuses in the interactions and influences between politics, the media, and public opinion. More specifically, she is interested in the communication strategies of political actors who are confronted with issues that they would rather avoid, or forced by a turn of public opinion to rethink their positions.

At the DCM, Alexandra Feddersen will teach in the Master’s program in "Business Communication". She will also be involved in setting up the new French-language bachelor’s program in communication due to start in 2022.

Her new colleagues at the DCM are looking forward to working together and wish Alexandra Feddersen a good start at the University of Fribourg.
