Research and publications

  • Investigation of the neurophysiological reactivity in persons suffering from professional stress and effects of an MBCT-ACT group therapy on this reactivity

Participants of a group therapy program aiming to improve coping with professional stress will be invited to participate in this study. After assessment of general psychopathology, participants will undergo 3 EEG, NIRS (near infrared spectroscopy) and electrophysiology recording sessions. Reactivity towards emotional pictures (International Affective Picture System) as well as script driven imagery in relation to a neutral, a relaxing and an individual stressful audio-script will be recorded. In addition, cortisol saliva swabs will be collected before and after these exposures.

The data from 40 individuals suffering from work-related stress will be compared to the data from 50 controls.
