Biography

Julie Dubois, MA, is a scientific collaborator at the Institute of Family Medicine of the University of Fribourg, and a PhD candidate in Life Sciences at the University of Lausanne. She holds an MA in Ethnology, Archeology and Linguistics from the University of Lausanne, and an MA in “Health, Population, and Social politics” from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris). Her PhD focuses on non-physician complementary medicine therapists, their role within the Swiss healthcare system and the forms of their collaboration with conventional medicine, using both qualitative and quantitative methods. More broadly, she is interested in the forms of integration of complementary medicine in the Swiss health care system as well as in the issue of chronic pain management in primary care settings. Her work has been published in PLos One, BMC Health Services Research and Scientific Reports.
