Biographie
Dr. Patricia Chocano-Bedoya, MD PhD is a medical doctor and an epidemiologist. She is a senior lecturer (Maître d’Enseignement et Recherche) in Epidemiology at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland and has a joint appointment as the the Head of the "Ageing" Research Unit at the Bern Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM), University of Bern, Switzerland. Previously, she was the Head of Epidemiology and Data Management at the Centre on Aging and Mobility, University of Zurich. Dr. Chocano-Bedoya completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with minors in nutrition and biostatistics and then received a Yerby Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to train in nutrition epidemiology and neuroepidemiology. She has conducted research on micronutrients and premenstrual syndrome, data-driven dietary patterns and inflammatory markers with a focus on geriatric depression and healthy ageing. Her current research is on dietary patterns, inflammation and cognitive impairment. She has extensive experience teaching clinical epidemiology and advanced research methods in a clinical context.
