Open positions at Fribourg Econophysics group

Several Research Grants are available to visit and study at the Interdisciplinary Physics Group of Fribourg University, Switzerland, where “Econophysics Forum” is based.

Who: Master and PhD level graduate students (other levels can be also considered). Physicists who are interested in econophysics, network physics, and internet applications.
Graduate students from other disciplines like Computer Sciences, Applied Math etc are also considered.

Skills preferred: A good analytic and numeric background. Especially if you are fluent in Linux, C, C++, distributed computing, databases, newer languages like Python, PHP, web design. Any of the skills above can be a plus.

When: any time from now: first come, first served. Duration is also flexible, from about one month to one year and even beyond.

What we do: There are the following two main directions:

1) Econophysics: high frequency finance, multi-agent modelling, automatic trading, risk/fluctuation management.

2) Internet Applications: social networks, development and study of recommender systems, information filtering.
