The Financial Computing and Analytics (FCA) group at University College London is actively researching systemic risk in traditional financial and banking sectors as much as in the emerging field of peer-to-peer economics. We are looking for an outstanding researcher with expertise in Network Science, Data Science, or other relevant disciplines. The appointee will contribute to a research project on the investigation of digital reputation and trust in Sharing Economy and P2P platforms. The appointee will work with members of the Financial Computing and Analytics (FCA) group at UCL ( The appointee will be expected to contribute to theoretical and empirical work seeking to understand the determinants of trust and reputation in online networked communities. Furthermore, the post-holder will be expected to contribute to the writing of manuscripts, and to engage in the public communication of the research via the media as well as at scientific conferences. This post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.

Candidates should have demonstrated a capability of conducting exciting world-class research in Network Science and related areas. They will be evaluated chiefly on their academic curricula and on the significance and novelty of their research to date. Candidates for level point 7 must hold an earned PhD by the time of application, or being in the process of earning one. A proven record of ability to manage time and delivering work on time is desirable. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,809 - £31,432 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis (including corrections).
