This rule is also valid for courses attended during a mobility program.

  • Pre-Master

In what case am I required to attend a pre-master?

Students owing a bachelor's degree from another faculty than Economics and Social Sciences without a minor (60 ECTS-credits) in management that want to start a MA in Management, Accounting and Finance or European and Global Business, are must attend a 60 ECTS-credits pre-master program. The courses must be equivalent to the courses from the 60 ECTS-credits minor.

If I do not have a minor in management, do I for sure have to attend all the pre-master courses?

No, courses during your bachelor that are equivalent to the courses in the minor can be accounted for. In any cases, this must officially be confirmed by the dean's office (Ms. Chantal Achermann).

Can I already start with my master during the pre-master?

Yes, you can already take master courses that amount up to 18 ECTS-credits during the pre-master. If your pre-master program includes 30 ECTS-credits or less, you can take as many master courses as you like.

Yes, this is generally possible but not recommended due to numerous overlaps. It is therefore, recommended to take a 60 ECTS-credits minor also because it allows students to start a master in this field as well.

At least two modules must be completed to receive a minor in management.

Can I take all master courses available for my MA minor in management?

  • Exams

I fell sick during an exam. Is the result valid?

Students that took note of the questions in the exam can generally not invalidate results even with a doctor's certificat. In any case, students must bring a doctor's certificat dated the same day to ask for invalidation of results.

How many ECTS-credits can be insufficient in order to still receive a degree?

The 20% rule is generally applied. A maximum of 20% of courses per year (bachelor in management) or 20% of courses in the minor can be insufficient if the average grade is still sufficient. For one year or minor, this would amount to 12 ECTS-credits.
