X-Ray Lab

The lab is equipped with two powder X-ray diffractometers (XRD) and one X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer.

• XRF Spectrometer PANalytical Zetium: Bulk chemical analyses of solids. Routine analyses of major and trace elements are performed in fused beads and pressed pellets (% to ppm level). Calibration for fully quantitative analysis of silicate-based materials is based on certified international standards.
  
  

• Powder XRD Philips PW1800: Routine qualitative phase analysis, single multisample holder with 20 slots, software for phase identification, peak fitting, Rietveld analysis (unit cell refinement, structure refinement)
  
  
• Powder XRD Rigaku Ultima IV: Routine qualitative phase analysis, two multisample holder with 25 slots, which can be loaded simultaneously, Cu-tube, two detectors available: a scintillation detector and a 1-D DTEX detector,  Bragg Brentano and parallel beam optics, software for phase identification, peak fitting, Rietveld analysis (unit cell refinement, structure refinement)
