Swiss visa

LLM or CAS students who are national of countries for which Switzerland requires a student visa are kindly asked to contact the Swiss Consulate or Embassy in their country of residence and start the visa application process as soon as possible. The procedure may take 8 to 10 weeks once all the requested documents are filed.

It is best to come to Fribourg a few days before the start of the academic year if you plan to look for and furnish an apartment. You may need copies of reference letters from previous landlords and photocopies of passports to provide to the rental agencies managing the apartments that are of interest to you. We would be glad to provide you with a letter in support of your application to rent an apartment in Fribourg.

Be sure to get the necessary information about where and when you can pick up your keys before leaving. If you plan on arriving in the evening or during the weekend (from Friday to Sunday) you may have to stay in a hotel or youth hostel:
