The "Prix Leuba" 2018 was awarded to Ivan Ilin and Zachary Fischer at the Dies Academicus.


On the occasion of the Dies Academicus 2018 of the University of Freiburg this year's "Prix Leuba" was awarded for the best scientific work in the field of ecumenical theology for two master theses: to Ivan Ilin for his work on Martin Luther's understanding of freedom from an Orthodox perspective - and to Zachary Fischer for his master thesis on "The Eternal Generation of the Son in the Theology of John Webster".

Ivan Ilin's master thesis is entitled: "La notion de la liberté chez Martin Luther: Un regard orthodoxe". It was created as part of the Master's programme in collaboration with the Institut d'Études Supérieures en Théologie Orthodoxe du Centre Orthodoxe du Patriarchat Œcuménique in Chambésy near Geneva. Zachary Fischer's master thesis, submitted in 2017, is entitled "The Eternal Generation oft he Son in the Theology of John Webster". It is dedicated to the Christology of the Anglican theologian John Webster (1955-2016), who died unexpectedly two years ago.
