Admission as a listener

  • General information

    General information

Any person over the age of 18 can follow the courses of the University of Fribourg as a listener. This entitles them to attend courses offered by the faculties without having to take any exams.

    Elder People’s University

Participants of the People’s University of the Canton of Fribourg have occasionally the opportunity to attend courses given by the University of Fribourg free of charge as listeners. Registrations must be made directly with the People’s University of the Canton of Fribourg and not with the University of Fribourg.

    Restrictions

    • Some courses, seminars or projects are not open to listeners. For more information on this subject and the list of courses, please check the course catalogue.
    • Registered listeners do not have the possibility to validate study achievements (examinations; essays; etc.) and therefore do not acquire any ECTS credits.
    • Listeners do not have access to the university’s infrastructure and services (media library; university sports; language courses; etc.).

    Lecture periods

Registration is open at all times. However, it is strongly recommended to register at the latest at the beginning of the course, in order to be able to follow the entire lecture. Please note that the semester fees apply in any case to a full semester and are therefore not available on a pro rata basis.
