Proof of adequate language proficiency

French and German are the teaching languages of the University of Fribourg, apart from specific cases such as language and literature studies and a few Master’s study programmes which are taught in English.

Bachelor studies

It is important that future Bachelor students master French or German in order to be able to follow courses and communicate both orally and in writing, whatever the chosen degree programme.
