Work experience placement with an SEMP grant

Students from European universities who do a work experience placement at the University of Fribourg (Unifr) or in an enterprise/organisation in Fribourg may be entitled to a grant under the Swiss-European Mobility Programme.

  • Conditions

    The conditions for obtaining an SEMP grant are as follows:

    1. The work experience placement must take place during your studies and be recognised academically by your home university.
      Work experience placements done after you have completed your studies cannot be funded by the SEM programme.
    2. The duration of the work experience placement must be between 8 weeks and 12 months with an activity rate of at least 80%.
    3. During the placement, you must be registered as a student at your home university.
  • Grants
    • The monthly grant for a work experience placement is CHF 440.
    • The entire grant is paid at the start of the placement.
    • The number of grants per academic year is limited. Requests are treated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • How to apply
    1. The person in charge of your work experience placement at Unifr or host enterprise in Fribourg must inform us that you are coming by email (international-incoming@unifr.ch).
      The following information about you must be sent to the International Relations Office:
      • Last name, first name
      • Email address
      • Home university
      • Dates of the work experience placement.
      • Unifr or the host enterprise must be informed of your coming at least 4 weeks before the start of the placement.
    2. You will then receive a link to register online. Please enclose the following documents when you register:
      • formulaire de candidature
      • Study contract for the work experience placement
      • Insurance certificate
      • copie de votre passeport ou carte d'identité valable
    3. You will receive confirmation of admission once your application has been checked.
    4. The grant contract, registration certificate and Campus Card will be given to you at the start of your work experience placement.
    5. The entire grant is paid at the start of the placement.
    6. At the end of your placement, you must submit a final report to the International Relations Office.
