Beschreibung The use of values has increased in importance in the practice of career counseling and development as shown by the extensive need and use of values surveys and values-based tools by career counselors, vocational psychologists, work and organizational psychologists, and other career advisors and development practitioners. The purpose of this course/seminar is to provide students in psychology with foundational and applied knowledge to guide their understanding and work. The course/seminar will a) focus on the role that values play in contemporary careers, addressing values from a broad array of theoretical and empirical perspectives, b) illuminate values assessment tools and interventions within vocational and counseling psychology and career development. The course/seminar is directed primarily toward graduate students who are interested in developing their ideas and understanding on the important role that values plays in the lives of individuals and especially in their careers and use their knowledge to address contemporary career-related issues through personal and team works.

Lernziele At the end of this course/seminar students will be able to:
• Demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, measurement scales, empirical findings, and practical interventions related to work and life values.
• Use critical and creative thinking, sound theoretical models, scientific evidence, or personal experience to solve problems related to relevant careers issues.
Zugangsbedingungen The course/seminar is directed primarily toward graduate students who are interested in developing their ideas and understanding on the important role that values plays in the lives of individuals and especially in their careers and use their knowledge to address contemporary career-related issues through personal and team works.
