    Description Main topics covered are:
    - Non-covalent interactions and their use in the design of supramolecular systems.
    - Analytical techniques used in supramolecular chemistry (NMR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence) for the determination of the association constants.
    - Receptors for cations, anions and neutral molecules. Supramolecular coordination chemistry.
    - Molecular topology: catenanes, rotaxanes and knots.
    - Molecular devices and machines.
    - Supramolecular catalysis, self-replication and dynamic combinatorial chemistry.
    - Analysis of some recent papers.
    Training objectives Knowledge of the most important non-covalent interactions and of their application to supramolecular systems.
    - Knowledge of the standard analytical techniques used in supramolecular chemistry.
    - Application of the general concepts to the design of receptors for selected species.
    - Knowledge of the most remarkable historical examples.
    - Capability of discussing and presenting a research paper on supramolecular chemistry.
