    Description

In this seminar we will discuss the nature of the mind, its place in the universe and its relation to the body and the brain. We will learn to look clearly and critically at the positions taken by thinkers throughout the ages, moving from Descartes to Dennett, while we discuss topics such as dualism, functionalism, consciousness and of course zombies.

After this class you should be able to explain the key concepts and theories in philosophy of mind, be able to critically evaluate the pros and cons of the presented theories, and extrapolate to understand their consequences and implications.
