    Description The course Principles and methods in investigating and treating age-associated heart and
    vascular diseases will provide a wide range of laboratory skills at the molecular, cellular, organ,
    and whole body levels, including analysis of oxidative stress, inflammation, advanced gene/cell
    therapy and drug delivery techniques for heart and vascular repair, etc. These techniques allow
    students to investigate the organism aging process and mechanisms of age-related diseases such
    as heart failure and vascular dysfunction in an integrative manner. The course will also
    emphasize how to formulate a scientific concept and/or hypothesis, and how to design a research
    project scientifically.
