    Description - Electron microscopy sample preparation, use of different coating techniques
    - Basic operation of the SEM (SE and BSE imaging) and the energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS, point analysis, mapping).
    - Short overview of the electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and cathodo-luminescence microscopy (CL) techniques.
    Training objectives Practical introduction into scanning electron microscopy, which should allow the participants to use the microscope under the supervision of the responsible technician.
    Prerequisites: Electron beam microanalytics course (No. 3629) in Berne is mandatory.
