    Description

In this course, we discuss molecular mechanisms regulating protein homeostasis. In the first part, we highlight co-translational and post-translational quality control mechanisms that ensure the synthesis of functional proteins. Once a protein has been made, how is its half-life determined? In the second part, we therefore outline the cellular protein degradation pathways focusing on the ubiquitin-proteasome-system (UPS) and autophagosomal /lysosomal protein degradation.
