Description	The student familiarizes herself/himself with modern techniques and carries out a research project under the guidance of a group leader. This work requires the establishment of a research strategy and of precise protocols, the execution of the experiments, establishing a clear lab journal and data analysis. The results will be written in the form of a scientific article.
Training objectives	The student will carry out an original project in basic research under the guidance of a group leader. The goal is to immerse the student into the laboratory and provide her/him with an accurate perception of the functioning of basic research in all its aspects, including experimental design, methods/techniques and laboratory practice, data acquisition, analysis/interpretation, discussion/presentation and publication of results. The Master thesis will be written in form of a scientific article and presented as a seminar to the members of the Department of biology. Learning objectives You will practice basic research in biological science and acquire skills in : a) experimental design b) laboratory practice, techniques and methodologies c) analysis, interpretation, discussion, and presentation of results d) writing/publishing scientific research.
Comments	The Master work is a one year training course in a laborator. Eight weeks vacation per year, including the preparation of exams. Timetable : In the laboratory of a research group
