    Description The course delivers basic knowledge in General Pharmacology and Toxicology. Specifically, we concentrate on pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, and we stress general mechanisms of drug action. Drug development and complementary medicines are introduced. Moreover, an introduction in tumor pharmacology is provided.
    Training objectives Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: Describe general mechanisms of drug actions and pharmacokinetics of a drug; Explain the relationship between genetic predisposition and drug effects; Describe how drug toxicity is assessed and toxic syndromes including their treatments; Describe the stages of drug development; Describe the principles of complementary medicine; Describe drug targets and drug actions in cancer.
