    Description

This class is concerned with the psychological implications of high levels of automation at work or in the domestic domain (e.g. park assist systems, smart homes). Students will learn about the problems associated with poor automation design (e.g. skill loss, distrust, and complacency). Studenets will also gain experience of evaluating real automatic systems in organisations.

    Objectifs de formation
    • You will be able to explain options of automation design by using automation models and examples.
    • You will be able to outline some negative effects of automation.
    • You will be able to design an interview schedule for analysing the consequences of automation in organisational settings.
    • You will have gained a good overview of key publications in the research literature on automation.

The seminar will be offered in hybrid form. Some sessions will take place in a university seminar room while other sessions will be offered online. For students not being able to come to university, the seminar will be offered completely online. Details will be communicated at a later time.
