European Journal for the Study of Thomas Aquinas

A new open-access journal for the study of Aquinas will launch in the Spring of 2019 and is now accepting contributions for its first issue. The European Journal for the Study of Aquinas (EJSTA) is an online open-access journal that will appear annually. It is a joint initiative of the Thomas Instituut Utrecht (NL), the Faculty of Theology of Nicolaus Copernicus University of Toruń (PL), the Saint Thomas Aquinas Institute for Theology and Culture of the Faculty of Theology (ISTAC) of the University of Fribourg (CH). EJSTA is the continuation of the Jaarboek of the Thomas Instituut Utrecht (Tilburg University, The Netherlands, published since 1981).

The journal publishes articles that are relevant to the Thomist ressourcement taking place at its founding institutions, with emphasis on the distinctly theological character of Aquinas’ works, including his Biblical commentaries. The EJSTA welcomes all scholarly contributions (written either in English, German, French, Spanish or Italian) that are directly or indirectly related to the study of Thomas Aquinas. Its aim is to disseminate the ongoing research done at its founding institutions as well as to provide a platform for other scholars in the field, inside and outside of Europe. Publications in the journal are of high academic quality and either advance or accurately evaluate present debates in the study of Aquinas. All articles are subject to double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published in open access at no charge to the author.
Articles received before 1 February 2019 will be considered for inclusion in the first issue. The word count should not exceed 9000, footnotes included. Should you think a longer article is appropriate please contact us before submitting your contribution. A style sheet is available to prospective authors. If you have an article to submit or if you have any questions please contact the editorial board at ejsta@uvt.nl. The editorial board consists of prof. Henk Schoot (Tilburg, editor-in-chief), dr. Anton ten Klooster (Tilburg, managing editor), prof. Benoît-Dominique de la Soujeole (Fribourg), prof. Michael Sherwin (Fribourg), prof. Mirosław Mróz (Toruń) and prof. Piotr Roszak (Toruń). The European Journal for the Study of Thomas Aquinas is published online with Sciendo (De Gruyter Open), ISSN 2657-3555.
