    Description Ursprung der Quantenmechanik: Schwarzkörperstrahlung, Wärmekapazitäten, optische Spektren, Dualität Partikel-Welle.

    Interpretation des Wellenformalismus, Wahrscheinlichkeitsdichten, Operatoren, Eigenwerte und Eigenfunktionen

    Bewegung in einfachen Systeme: Teilchen im Kasten, der mehrdimensionale Kasten, endlicher Potenzialtopf. Freie Teilchen und der Tunneleffekt. Harmonischer Oszillator

    Zeitabhängige Schrödingergleichung, Superpositionsprinzip, stationäre und nicht-stationäre Zustände

    Prinzipien der Quantenmechanik, Wirkung der Messung, Erwartungswerte

    Wellenpackete und Unschärferelation

    Rotation: der zwei- und dreidimensionale starre Rotator, Legendre Polynome, Drehimpuls und sphärische Harmonische, Vektormodell des Drehimpulses, Spin.
    Training objectives The student learns the basic principles of quantum mechanics with a minimum of mathematical baggage. He gets to know the origins of quantum mechanics, how the particle in a box, the harmonic oscillator, and the rigid rotator can be described with quantum mechanics, and after completion of the course he will be able to follow basic lectures on electronic structure theory.
