    Die Tagzeitenliturgie zählt zu den bedeutenden Gottesdienstformen in den Kirchen des Westens wie des Ostens. In der römisch-katholischen Kirche war sie jahrhundertelang in Form des Breviers, zu dem Priester und Bischöfe verpflichtet waren, sowie durch die gemeinschaftlichen Feiern in den Orden bekannt. Seit dem Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzil hat es eine grundlegende Neuorientierung gegeben. Dennoch sind die Reformziele nur ansatzweise verwirklicht worden. In den Kirchen der Reformation ist das Stundengebet zum grössten Teil im Zuge der Reformation aufgegeben worden; jedoch gibt es auch hier intensive Bemühungen um eine Wiedereinführung in angepassten Formen. Im ökumenischen Miteinander von Studierenden der Universität Freiburg und der STH Basel sollen Modelle aus der Geschichte aufgearbeitet und heutige Herausforderungen und Chancen dieser liturgischen Form in den diversen Traditionen benannt werden. Verbunden wird dies mit gemeinsamen liturgischen Erfahrungen in der katholischen und der reformierten-freikirchlichen Tradition.
